The idea and its impact

Madrid's wholesale and logistics site, with vehicles coming and going at all hours. The pilot, part of the Govtech programme, aims to cut congestion and speed up access.

What our client was looking for

Occasional saturation at the entrances and no traceability inside the site, to be measured with the cameras available, with no works or new sensors.

What Seevia brings

01

One flow, three points

Ten-lane entrance, roundabout and car park: each camera detects, tracks and places objects in a bird's-eye view, a plan seen from above.

02

What it measures

Vehicles per lane and type, queues, waits, wrong-way movement, occupancy and average speed.

03

Numbers, not images

Metrics are published; there is no need to store images.

04

How far the cameras reach

We measured the current cameras' coverage to see where new ones would be missing.

Measured results

95.55% of passes counted at the gate

9,335 of 9,770 vehicles (95% confidence interval: 95.12% to 95.94%). Before tuning the counting engine, 91.82%.

A third of the route covered

18 cameras, 12 suitable for analytics, 7 used. Over 1,739 metres the current ones observe 32%, with 15 blind sections.
