Twins and simulation

Test without risk

Testing on the street is slow, costly and allows few repeats. A digital twin is a faithful 3D model. In digital twin simulation, driving software receives simulated camera images and point clouds and responds as it would in the vehicle. A scenario can run a hundred times with rain or traffic changed at will.

What twins and simulation are

A twin is a 3D model built from real measurements. In a simulator, driving software receives data from virtual sensors and responds as it would in the vehicle. A scenario can run a hundred times and conditions can change.

The problem it solves

The street never repeats exactly, does not let you stage critical cases and is costly. Nor is it wise to buy sensors without knowing what they see.

How we do it

01

Capture

Runs with LiDAR and camera, or the vehicle's CAD, give geometry.

02

Build

3D model of the environment and, if needed, an HD map.

03

Model

Field of view, resolution, focal length and height of each sensor.

04

Validate

We simulate the vehicle and its surroundings and compare with real recordings.

Questions

Does it replace real-world testing?

No: it reduces and prepares it. Final validation is done in the real world.

Which scenarios can be simulated?

Cities, roads, ports and industrial sites, by day, by night and in different conditions.

Can our environment be reproduced?

Yes, from real captures of the site.
